LOWER MILFORD TOWNSHIP

LEHIGH COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA

 

 

AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWNSHIP OF LOWER MILFORD, LEHIGH COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA, AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 69, ENACTED JULY 2, 1992, ESTABLISHING A STREET ADDRESS SYSTEM FOR THE TOWNSHIP

 

 

WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors of Lower Milford Township adopted an ordinance establishing a street address system and providing for the orderly numbering of principal buildings within the township; and

 

WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors are concerned that residents of Lower Milford Township receive expeditious emergency response.

 

THEREFORE, Ordinance No. 69 is hereby amended as follows:

 

           

            SECTION II    POSTING OF PROPERTY NUMBERS

 

            Subsection B. (is repealed and replaced as follows)

 

            B.         Within sixty (60) days, after receipt of such written notification, the owner of the property shall display the assigned street address number by means of three inch (3”) high reflective numbers affixed to the mailbox or sign post at the access to the property, visually readable from both directions, and/or affixed to the building where such building is visible from the street.  All construction sites shall post the street address number and no Use or Occupancy Permit shall be issued unless the property is in compliance with this ordinance. 

 

            Subsection D.  (insert new as follows)

 

            D.        Where private roads and driveways contain turnoffs to access multiple properties, signs containing reflective three inch (3”) numbers shall be posted at the turnoffs clearly indicating the direction for locating the property.

 

 

Within sixty (60) days of the effective date of this ordinance, all properties within the Township of Lower Milford having an assigned street address shall conform to the provisions of this ordinance.  Property owners shall be responsible for maintenance of the posted street address number.

 

 

Repealer – All Ordinances or parts thereof in conflict with this ordinance are hereby repealed.

 

 

Effective Date – This ordinance shall become effective five days from date of adoption.
