LOWER MILFORD COMMUNITY PARK (Located to the rear of the gravel parking lot behind the township building) |

The Lower Milford Community park began with a vision. Supervisor Donna Wright, who also serves on the Recreation and Open Space Board, envisioned a walking path around the property of the Township building. Thanks to a grant from DCNR, proceeds from the Lower Milford Silent Auction, for which township resident Shirley Selgrath volunteers much time and effort, and generous donations from PPL and Fitzpatrick, Lentz & Bubba , this vision has become a reality. The sign gracing the entrance to the park was handmade and engraved by Lower Milford resident Thomas DeNave. As an Eagle Scout project, Benjamin Adams erected the sign and landscaped the surrounding area, with the help of fellow Boy Scouts of Troop 141. With the horticultural experience of Gary Campbell, Chairman of the Recreation and Open Space Board, native species of shrubs and trees were meticulously chosen and purchased at wholesale cost from Evergreen Nurseries who also donated equipment and labor by delivering and placing the plants on site. Our own township staff, volunteers from the Southern Lehigh High School Ecology Club and volunteer residents of Lower Milford Township worked painstakingly to plant over 100 shrubs and trees along a quarter mile walking path encircling a 2.4 acre sports field. There are plans to place additional park benches on site at intervals and a doggie bag station at the entrance for cleaning up after your pooch. Anyone wishing to donate items for the park are welcome to do so, please contact the Township Office. The Township would like to thank everyone involved in making the Lower Milford Community Park a reality.
