BOARD OF SUPERVISORS - WORKSHOP MEETING

MINUTES
PRESENT: Richard Harris, Chairman; Donna Wright, Vice-Chair; Arland Schantz, Supervisor; Ellen Koplin, Township Manager; and approximately 10 members of the audience.
Chairman Harris called the meeting to order at approximately 7:32 pm.
OLD BUSINESS:
Schultz Bridge Road Hazard Mitigation Grant Application
FEMA is requiring extensive studies for Stream Bank Stabilization Grant application. The studies could also be used for obtaining permits. Schantz mentioned a similar project done by his neighbor and thought the Township could look into the contractor he used and what permits were needed. Koplin will call Wilkes-Barre for information on the permit process.
Wright gave an update on Perk Up the Upper Perkiomen Economic Plan. She said they will be having another Train Ride in October 2009. September 18, 2008 @ 7:30 a.m. will be the first public meeting to show the revised draft to municipal leaders and those involved in the plan.
NEW BUSINESS:
IRS Milage Rate Increase
Effective July 1, 2008 the milage rate increased from 50.5 cents to 58.5 cents per mile. Koplin will do a draft resolution for the regular meeting.
Notice of Sheriff Sale
91.33 acres on the N & S side of School House Lane and Peach Lane. There is a judgement of $4.5 million and an interest rate of 4.5% above prime.
Ed Bendeckovitz did not show up to voice his interest in serving on the Joint Building Board of Appeals. The Board will move forward with the other candidate who has shown an interest.
